Why TelePhoto
TelePhoto Technologies Inc. has been servicing the horse racing industry since 1950.

TelePhoto has brought integrity to the Canadian horse racing industry as the sole provider to the country's national regulatory agencies. Through its exclusive long-term contracts with 50 racetracks, TelePhoto has produced over 2 million live horse racing productions. In 2007, TelePhoto directed and produced 33,000 live horse racing events and almost 10,000 "by a nose" photo finishes - 25% of all horse racing in North America.

TelePhoto – First in the Horse Racing Industry

2005: to design and install a low cost high performance Internet-based platform to simulcast live races.

1995: with a computer-based colour photo finish system in North America.

Early '90s: with a TV graphics software system for racing that overlay in real time, simultaneous streams of betting tote and Equibase data.

Late '80s: to use a satellite network to simulcast signals across North America.

Mid '80s: to construct an infrared beam timing system in North America.

1960s: to design and deploy an instant reversal film processing machine.

Late '50s: to develop a 35mm film-based photo finish system in North America.
